Jesus is our Savior

One of the most important, simplistic and yet timelessly fundamental truths that we uphold here at the Eastland Church of Christ, is that Jesus Christ is our Savior.  It is an absolute fact that man (prior to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus) was hopelessly bound and condemned in his sins.  Certainly, the Law of Moses and its ordained sacrifices, afforded man momentary relief from his sins; nonetheless, it was unable to provide “permanent” redemption (cf. Hebrews 10:4) However, this plight concerning the Law, was by no means the case for Jesus.  For the Bible tells us in Hebrews 9:28 that Christ was offered once for our sins, and through that God-directed offering, we now have access to salvation.  We therefore conclude that there is none created, imagined, or presumed who can equal the power and saving ability that God has bestowed on His Son, Jesus the Christ (cf. Acts 4:10-12)  Condemnation and damnation are states that man can be freed from, if only he comes to Jesus.  The Bible beautifully states in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”(NIV) It is for this reason that we uphold Jesus as our Savior.
